User experience lead on various projects for government clients. Responsible for mentoring junior UX team members and writing their performance evaluations. Promoted UX within the company by creating and giving presentations on usability issues to members of the wider Booz Allen community. Participated in responding to RFPs from government agencies.
Client Work
US Army - Worked with subject matter experts to design and prototype a multi-agency intelligence sharing and collaboration application called TYCN. Application helped push relevant information to intelligence analysts through subscription services. Application handled data from multiple cloud sources including maps, satellite imagery, video, audio, text, and various other data sets.
Federal Emergency Management Agency - Responsible for user experience and 508 compliance for 80+ FEMA applications. Applications facilitate disaster planning and response. Created wireframes and prototypes and developed front-end code including Javascript. Prepared usability standards used through out organization. Prepared presentations on usability to help enforce standards and improve development process. Wrote specifications and requirements and helped develop the internal standard for specifying and documenting how a user interface works.
Regulations.gov (EPA) - Gathered data from user tests, help-desk tickets, surveys, and heat maps to help redesign Regulations.gov. Worked with government stakeholders, operations team, developers, and graphic designers on site redesign. Led meetings and presented design proposals to agency heads and user community. Challenges of this site design included faceted search, poor results relevance, and a heavily bifurcated user base encompassing both expert and novice users.

Redesigned company's entire suite of applications. Responsible for visual design, information architecture, and interaction design for all products. Created prototypes, wireframes, requirements, and test-scripts. Conducted expert usability evaluations of existing products, including field studies with actual users heading to Iraq. Wrote company user interface design guide. Evaluated hardware products for compliance with military human factors standards (Mil-Standard 1472E). Designed UI for internal development and testing tools. Worked discreetly with export-controlled software and hardware that deal with sensitive intelligence.

Senior interface designer and interaction design manager for CityTime Workforce Management Application to be used by all 84 New York City agencies and 400,000 city employees. Responsible for all aspects of visual design, information architecture, and interaction design. Created high-fidelity prototype that served as a specification for developers, a tool to elicit client feedback, and inside sales support. Worked closely with developers to ensure successful implementation of GUI spec. Helped refine the technological concepts (XSL/Ajax) that power application's front-end. Worked closely with clients, analysts, and developers to create interfaces for biometric data collection devices, IVR system, and kiosk. Managed information architecture team.
